Summer Session Thursday 8 Week Wheel with Flex Time

We’re offering something new this summer. An eight week course with flex time where you can build your skills, consisting of 2.5 hours of instruction and wheel time. Class will be available every Thursday evening from 6-8:30 PM. You will pay for 8 weeks, but the course is offered for 10, allowing you to choose which 2 weeks to skip for potential vacations. Hence the “Flex Time”. And we’ll be closed the week of Independence Day, so everyone gets that week off!!

This course is offered to all skill levels, but it is recommended that you first take Intro to Wheel Throwing if you have never done anything on a potter’s wheel before. Class fee includes use of studio equipment and glazes with supervision. Community tools are available if you don’t have your own. Basic skills will be covered including trimming and glazing. New skills will be introduced at students’ request as you move at your own pace. Students will be expected to clean their work stations at the end of each class. Work must be completed in the 2.5 hours provided. Students should bring an apron or towel. Short fingernails are recommended.

New students will be provided 10 pounds of clay to get started. Fresh clay can be purchased as needed, at cost. (Right now it’s $15 for 25 pounds) Additional studio use will cost $20/hr. Left over clay at the end of the session must be taken home or it will be added to the recycle. Open to students age 14 and over. Runs each Thursday evening from June 12 to August 21, 6 to 8:30 PM.
