Wheel Throwing for 6 weeks
A six week course where you can build your skills, consisting of 2.5 hours of instruction and wheel time, every Wednesday evening for 6 weeks. This course is offered to all skill levels, but it is recommended that you first take Intro to Wheel Throwing if you have never done anything on a potter’s wheel before. Class fee includes use of studio equipment and glazes with supervision. Community tools are available if you don’t have your own. Basic skills will be covered including trimming and glazing. New skills will be introduced at students’ request as you move at your own pace. Students will be expected to clean their work stations at the end of each class. Work must be completed in the 2.5 hours provided. Students should bring an apron or towel. Short fingernails are recommended.
New students will be given 10 lbs of clay to get started. Fresh clay can be purchased as needed at cost. Additional studio use will cost $20/hr. Left over clay at the end of the six weeks must be taken home or it will be added to the recycle. Open to students age 16 and over. Runs each Wednesday from Oct. 29- Dec. 10, from 6:00-8:30 PM. THERE WILL BE NO CLASSES THE WEEK OF THANKSGIVING.
