SUMMARY:Kids at the Wheel\, an Intro to Clay.
DESCRIPTION:Do you have a child that is curious to know what it's like to t
 hrow on a potter's wheel? This 2 hour class is a great way to try clay wit
 hout the commitment of a 6 week class. Open to children age 8 and up who a
 re big enough to sit at the wheel and work alone\, with their parent at th
 e wheel next door to encourage and assist\, or a parent willing to share t
 he stool and help and learn along with their child.\n\nClass begins with a
  focus on centering\, followed by how to open\, pull up walls\, and form a
   cylinder. Forms and functions will be introduced and demonstrated. No e
 xperience is needed. All tools and materials are provided. Depending on sk
 ill and ability\, some students may make a pot or two. After clean up\, th
 ose who have made a pot they wish to keep may choose a glaze color. Work w
 ill be dried\, trimmed\, glazed and fired in the following weeks and stude
 nts will be contacted when their pots are ready to pick up. This can take 
 up to 6 weeks. Students may bring an apron or towel if they wish.\n\nCost 
 is $55 per person/wheel. If a parent is going to sit at the same wheel to 
 assist a smaller child\, they need only book 1 seat.\n\nShort fingernails
